In July, 2005, I was diagnosed with Early Onset Alzheimer's Disease. I was only 47 years old! These were my thoughts immediately after the diagnosis. This is a video that I made after I found a journal that I had kept & even forgotten about. Please watch & share this video so others will learn that Alzheimer's is not just a disease that elderly people get. We need to change the face of Alzheimer's!
A few months later, I saw a 2nd neurologist & my diagnosis was changed to MCI – Mild Cognitive Impairment. In the summer of 2014, I had neuro. psych eval done & it was confirmed that MCI was the correct diagnosis. That means, that for now, the neuro. does not believe that I have a form of dementia. MCI means that my brain doesn't function the same as someone else my own age. In the future, I might progress to Alz, but I might not.
